Brampton offers a Sanitary Backwater Valve Rebate Program to eligible homeowners for $700. This helps homeowners cover the cost of installing a sanitary backwater valve to reduce basement flooding due to rainfall. A valve is one of the most effective ways to reduce flooding however, they are not suitable for every property so be mindful and contact a professional for their opinion as well as for the installation. Mississauga homeowners can also claim the $700 backwater valve rebate through the Peel Region but they also qualify for the Foundation Drain Collector Sump Pump Subsidy. This offers eligible homeowners the money to install a sump pump. This is an alternative to the backwater valve as it also safeguards against basement water flooding. This subsidy covers 100% of the cost of installing a sump pump, to a maximum of $6,000

Oakville and Burlington both fall under the Halton Region and this region has a number of rebates under the Enhanced Basement Flooding Prevention Subsidy. These rebates include downspout disconnection, weeping tile disconnection & sump pump installation, backwater valve installation, and sewer lateral (pipe) lining & repair.
The region covers different amounts depending on which you choose to move forward with. For the backwater valve installation they cover 50% of the cost (up to $675). For disconnection of the weeping tile and sump pump installation they will cover 100% of the cost up to a maximum of $5,000. For the sewer lateral lining and repair the region will cover 50% of the costs up to a maximum of $2,000.
The Georgetown Water Department offers a rebate program to residents who are looking to upgrade certain household items to more energy/water efficient models. These upgrades are only applicable to high efficiency toilets, washing machines and also a smart irrigation controller. The rebate amount for each is $50.00.
The city of Toronto offers a Basement Flooding Protection Subsidy which is used to take the stress off of homeowners when it comes to water damage. There are two different rebates eligible parties can apply and collect which include sump pump installation which the city will cover 80% of at a maximum of $1750 and the severing or capping weeping tile/storm sewer connection which again comes in at 80% coverage up to a maximum $400.
